Virginia Leavell is a campaign organizer, fundraiser, and popular educator. She has worn many campaign organizer hats in DC and nationally. She worked as an organizer Change to Win and campaign director at the Laborers International Union of North America running green jobs campaigns in Colorado and Tennessee. She is a founding member of the Wayside Center for Popular Education in Virginia, supporting organizing for immigrant justice, women’s rights, and intersectional movement building in the region. Virginia worked as program coordinator at the Washington Peace Center, and coordinated a DC leg of the New Orleans Worker Center for Racial Justice guest worker campaign. In 2013, along with two others, Virginia started DC Action Lab to help social and economic justice organizations pull off powerful actions and events in DC. She loves organizing in the South, reading the broad history and theory of the Left, and is looking forward to planning a creative and beautiful action for the end of the March in DC!
