The Marchers will be camping in Hampton, 10.4 miles from the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201 at the Illiniwek Forest Preserve facilities: shower houses, restrooms, running water and electricity in the Pavilion.

 

~ Event Information ~

 

6:30am DROP OFF Marchers at Vehicles at the trucks on River Drive, to load gear and prepare to March. THIS  ALWAYS TAKES MORE TIME THAN WE ANTICIPATE, We bikes to unload, and have banners and signs to make available to the marchers etc. Lots of organizing to do after stay day. (Ideally I would encourage 6:15 am.)
7-7:15Gather at LeClaire Park. This is a time for our Marchers to CIRCLE UP and do announcements.
7:15-7:30  Ceremony: Departure from LeClaire Park, escorted by Mayor Gluba to Botanical Center.
 –  Speakers: Miriam Kashia ( our Mayor, and deliver to Mayor of Davenport the March’s Proclamation)

7:45am: Stop on the Iowa / Illinois border on the bridge for the Marchers traditional quick border crossing “chant”.
8:00am: Welcome Ceremony w/ Rock Island Mayor Dennis Pauley at the Botanical Center. 2525 4th Ave. Rock Island, IL
9:00am: Marchers depart from the Quad Cities Botanical Center and follow river path up to Hampton. IL where they will camp at Illinwek Forest Preserve.
***DRIVERS will have to be taken back or walk back to vehicles at some point and banners and signs will have to be put back in gear truck before marchers walk 11 miles.
