To build both leg-strength and community with other “climateers,” we suggest organizing a Weekly Warm-up Walk in your area. In Des Moines this week, with river trails still compromised by high water, on Wednesday (June 5th) we’ll meet at 6:00 p.m. at Gateway Market and Cafe at 2002 Woodland Ave and walk through downtown Des Moines to Stewart Square Park at 1401 E Grand and back. It’s exactly five miles round trip. If folks want to or need to walk a shorter distance, they can simply turn around before Stewart Square Park. Everyone is welcome, so feel free to invite others.
