The premiere event opposing the Iowa Bakken oil pipeline through Iowa.

Join the fight with Iowa CCI, everyday Iowans, landowners, and the Climate March!

Location: Uncle Nancy’s Coffee House, N 2nd Avenue West, Newton, IA

It is after business hours, but there will be coffee and beverages available for purchase.

 

We are encouraging public testimony, organization proclamations, and Iowa community commentary regarding blocking the proposed pipeline, protecting water, land, air, and people.

Speakers to include:

Iowa Marchers Jeffrey Czerwiec (Newton, IA) & Miriam Kashia (North Liberty, IA),

Matt Ohloff (Food & Water Watch),

Iowa State University Graduate Students,

Wally Taylor & Pam Mackey-Taylor (Sierra Club Iowa Chapter),

Keokuk County landowners will be in attendance for this key event in the process of community-building against the pipeline.

Bold Nebraska founder Jane Kleeb will be Skype video-conferenced in for a special inspirational presentation and Nebraskan-Iowan landowner Tom Genung may also be present for the event.  Bold Nebraska has been successful in blocking the Keystone XL pipeline through Nebraska and mobilizing networks of resistance in neighboring states.  Their organization was instrumental to the Great Climate March’s success in Nebraska.
