1:30 – 4 PM: Solar cooking, poetry reciting, and strumming Climate Marchers. Make solar necklaces with New Energy Economy

SATURDAY, MAY 17: A Night Around the Campfire: A near zero-carbon emitting digital event

Location: Fort Marcy Park, Magers Field, Santa Fe

7-8:30: Life Cairn Project

7:20 – Native ceremony and blessing: Picuris Pueblo Governor Richard Mermejo

7:30 – Building of the Life Cairn: Participants place stones to memorialize species gone extinct due to human activity, raise alerts about critically endangered species, human cultures and island nations

8:00 PM: Projecting of Images: extinct and threatened species on outdoor screen and reading of extinct and threatened species and island nations

8:30-9:40 PM: Gather around a digital campfire for a magical evening with Climate Marchers and other invited storytellers. Intermixed with:

RE-WEAVE: A Carbon Draw Down ChoirA participatory real-time community event incorporation local poetry, stories, musicians, and singers. Come as you are and no experience necessary. You can listen or participate as you wish. Perhaps the first CARBON SANCTUARY choir in the country! Join composer/artistic director/storyteller/activist Molly Sturges of Littleglobe, UNM, COAL: Fable of the Firerock and The Academy for the Love of Learning for a totally unique response to climate stability in our region.

 

SUNDAY, MAY 18: CCL at CCA: Sustainable Sunday Film Series

12 PM: In collaboration with the Marchers from the Climate March will kick off the festival

Marchers will speak at the beginning of the film festival and hold a panel discussion after the kick-off film Above All Else
