Schedule of activities for the community of Taos!

Saturday May 24

12-1 PM: Earthships Tour & Party with lunch for attending Marchers

12-1 PM: March Against Monsanto at the Taos Farmer’s Market (next to Taos Public Library, 402 Camino De La Placita, Taos, NM 87571, contact is Rivera Sun)

2:45 PM: Meet the marchers at the Taos Visitor’s Center (1139 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, Taos, NM) Banner & Sign Setup, Musical Instrument pickup.

3:00 PM: Erin Sandborn, Exec. Dir, of the Taos Green Chamber of Commerce will speak with the Marchers.

3:10 PM:  Procession Blessing by Rev. Yusen Yamato, (he will arrive at 2:30pm) a Buddhist Monk and Japanese native.  In 1976, Yamato walked from Los Angeles, Calif., to Washington, D.C., carrying the prayer of global peace. He did this three more times.

3:15 PM: Community members join the marchers in a procession along Paseo del Pueblo Sur to Kit Carson Park Bandshell Stage area (2.5 miles to 211 Paseo del Pueblo Norte)

4:00 PM: Welcome celebration at the Kit Carson Park Bandshell Stage area with speakers William DeBuys, Patricia McCabe, and Marchers Berenice Tompkins, Jerry Stewart, and Kat Haber.

Sunday May 25

11:00 AM: Chalisa chanting at Hanuman Temple

11:00 AM: Marchers Winter Ross, Izzy Mogelgaard, Ken Snyder, Bob Cook, and Miriam Kashia present at the Taos Unitarian Universalist congregation. (Ranchos de Taos Presbyterian Church, 1 San Francisco Rd., Ranchos de Taos.)

11:30 AM: Education Outreach Program Children’s Spiritual Stewardship Presentation in Taos (Marcher Lala Palazzolo)

1:30 PM: Special Event TBA!

2-5 PM: Community Service at Hanuman Temple (ALL Marchers)

3-5 PM: Wired! Café house party for the marchers and community (705 Felicidad Ln Taos, New Mexico 87571)

6:30 PM:  Community Potluck with the marchers at Valverde Commons Co-housing Community
